Leading a Nation
October 28, 2008 to December 5, 2008
For the first theme of the 2008-2009 school year, Leading a Nation prompted students to imagine themselves as the leader of any nation and create visual artwork to illuminate their ideas. We asked students to think about the major issues nations face today, and what they would do to resolve these issues and build peace. We also encouraged students to think about any programs, laws, or events they would implement in their countries.
As we hoped, students used the theme not only as a reason to produce colorful and detailed artworks, but also to express their knowledge of world politics.
