Denouncing Violence Against Women

The exhibition, Denouncing Violence Against Women, presents a series of posters on loan form the Center for the Study of Political Graphics. These images from various countries denounce the diversified brutality against women; from domestic violence, to genocide, from female genital mutilation, to human trafficking.

The Sota Project

Sota, an anonymous Hebrew Biblical story, recounts the tale of two sisters, Sota and Bekhorah, who are bound together in symbiotic loyalty when Sotaʼs husband accuses her of infidelity. Against a backdrop of jealousy, betrayal, judgment, ritual humiliation, and ultimately death, Cnaaniʼs installation depicts a deceptively simple moral parable that unfolds in countless ways.

USC Fisher Gallery announces name change

After almost 70 years as USC Fisher Gallery, the art museum of the University of Southern California has been rededicated as the USC Fisher Museum of Art. Long a collecting institution, USC Fisher Museum of Art is also a center of intellectual inquiry and aesthetic enjoyment for not only the University of Southern California and the greater Los Angeles community. A formal public renaming celebration will take place in the fall of 2008 coinciding with the opening of the exhibition Phantasmagoria.
