Art is a powerful tool for social activism. If you’ve ever wanted to create meaningful and impactful art that raises awareness about a serious issue, then this is your chance! The USC Fisher Museum of Art has collaborated with the Office of Sustainability and the Environmental Student Assembly to give students the platform to create socially conscious art from the waste collected after tailgates.

Pacific Gyre Pub

Let’s face it – tailgating is fun! Unfortunately it is easy to overlook our wasteful habits when we’re supporting our team. Now is your opportunity to help recycle a part of that trash to create meaningful art and help raise awareness about the mass amounts of tailgate waste!

Need some inspiration for your proposal? Make sure to stop by the Fisher Museum to see “Gyre: The Plastic Ocean“, where 25 international artists have collaborated to show the dire consequences of human consumption through visually stunning artworks.

Now is your chance to get creative, contribute to a great project, and have your artwork displayed in Alumni Park!

Artists will be selected by Oct. 30th. Interested parties should contact bovia@usc.edu with project proposals and further inquiries regarding available funding. Preliminary project design should be complete by Nov 9th!
