Instagram post 2232997839481383698_234118632 Recently, the writer, educator, artist, and curator Deborah Willis was featured in "The Deciders," a list of art-world figures pointing the way forward developed by @artnews and #SwizzBeatz.

'Posing Beauty in African American Culture' an exhibition curated by Willis was on view at the USC Fisher Museum of Art in the fall of 2011. #TBT

The show explored the contested ways in which African and African American beauty have been represented in historical and contemporary contexts through a diverse range of media including photography, film, video, fashion, advertising, and other forms of popular culture such as music and the Internet.

Do you remembering seeing this exhibition?

Join us for a conversation with Dan McCleary and Charles Arnoldi. McCleary, a figurative artist, will interview Arnoldi, an abstract artist, about his work, art practice, and career. After the conversation, attendees will be able to explore the exhibition Charles Arnoldi | Four Decades with the artists.

Followed by refreshments. 🍪🍇☕ Reserve your tickets using the link in our bio! #uscfishermuseum #painters #chuckarnoldi #danmccleary #abstract #representational #artevent

Instagram post 2230785721232709265_234118632 Today marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. These men and women, painted so intimately and poignantly by @davidkassan, are all Auschwitz survivors. Today we remember those who perished, celebrate the rich and beautiful lives of those who survived, and work to confront the hatred and anti-semitism of the present. .

This work is currently on view at the @museumoftolerance. Tonight they are offering a special viewing of this monumental piece in addition to a screening of the documentary ‘Liberation.’ See their website for more information.
